A pocket knife is a folding knife with a blade typically 3 to 5 inches in length that fits inside the handle and that is small enough to fit in a pocket. The blade closing using a slip join and does not lock into place but is held open by a spring. Pocket Knives are closed only if an appropriate amount of pressure is placed against the blade.
